Who is JeffcoNet?

JeffcoNet is an alternative learning program housed at McLain High School.  Six fully licensed Jefferson County School District Teachers instruct students across a curriculum that far exceeds state and district standards.

Our students are learners looking for a change a pace.  Students who have restrictive and demanding schedules enjoy the flexibility that our class schedule provides.  Still others value the freedom to pursue far-ranging interests afforded by our partnerships with Red Rocks Community College, Warren Tech, local employers, and an onsite daycare.

Why are We Different?

JeffcoNet’s licensed educators design courses to suit many different learning styles and can individualize instruction for even the most challenging of situations.  Students at JeffcoNet have consistent interaction with all their teachers on a daily basis.

Virtual education can be extremely difficult to adapt to for a traditional student.  Our staff not only understands this, but insures the students have the tools to succeed by first teaching an elective course to all entering students called “SOS” (Survival Online Skills).  This course is unique to JeffcoNet and focuses on the skills, knowledge, and technology that students need to glide through the core curriculum without “virtual” pitfalls. As our students progress through the program, SOS continually strengthens and reinforces their ability to be self-directed and proactive in their own education.

Students leave us better prepared for the upcoming virtual world within college course work.
